LIDS faculty member Guy Bresler has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award for his research on “Reducibility among high-dimensional statistics problems: information preserving mappings, algorithms, and complexity.”
Guy’s project aims to develop a comprehensive average-case complexity theory of statistical inference, which would be a significant advance to our understanding of the information and computation limitations in high-dimensional statistics, with broad applicability to a variety of important application domains.
The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is a Foundation-wide activity that offers the NSF’s most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.
