MIT ranks No.1 in the world in QS 2018-2019
MIT has been rated as the top university for the seventh year in a row by the QS World University Rankings. This was announced on June 6, 2018. The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is an organization that specializes in education and study abroad. It conducts world university ranking based on criteria such as academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, student-to-faculty ratio, proportion of international faculty, and proportion of international students.
The QS also ranked MIT as the world’s top university in 12 of 48 disciplines in 2018 February. These 12 disciplines are: Architecture/Built Environment; Linguistics; Chemical Engineering; Civil and Structural Engineering; Computer Science and Information Systems; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering; Chemistry; Materials Science; Mathematics; Physics and Astronomy; and Statistics and Operational Research.
